The Jacob & Charlotte Lehrman Foundation

applications

The Foundation Board generally makes grants once a year, typically in October. While the Foundation is not accepting unsolicited proposals, an organization may be asked to submit a grant/request for proposal (RFP) by a Trustee of the Board and/or staff. The deadline for RFPs as well as proposals submitted from current grant recipients is June 15. Proposals submitted after June 15 will not be eligible for consideration.

The Foundation will review RFPs and notify organizations as to the status of their application. Board members and/or staff may conduct a site visit after receiving a full proposal, particularly for organizations and/or programs new to the Foundation. Grants range in size, depending on the organization and purpose of the grant. The Foundation will support innovative programs, general operations, and special-request targeted giving.

The Foundation is a member of the Washington Grantmakers. If an organization is asked to submit a RFP, the Foundation requires one copy of the Common Grant Application form (including all attachments) for all new applicants. Repeat grantees receive periodic instruction from the Foundation on the application and reporting process.

Any questions should be directed to the Foundation office at 202 328.8400.

The Jacob and Charlotte Lehrman Foundation is not accepting unsolicited proposals for the grant cycle.
